Art in support of scientific research
Art and solidarity meet to support scientific research in abdominal transplantation.
A recent evening event brought together art and solidarity, filling the Montecchi family’s venue in Campogalliano with warmth and purpose.
At the heart of the event was an initiative promoted by Modena Arts, an association founded in 2021 with an ambitious goal: to advance scientific research in the field of abdominal transplantation and provide support to those battling severe kidney, liver, and pancreas diseases.
With such a vital mission at its core, the event was a tangible opportunity to make a difference by raising funds.
The evening began with a heartfelt welcome from Danilo Montecchi, who remarked:
“Solidarity is a bridge to the future, which is precisely why we are here today.”
Following this, the stage was handed over to Professor Fabrizio Di Benedetto, president of Modena Arts and a prominent figure in the medical-scientific community.
In his speech, the professor explained that the funds raised during the auction would be used to purchase an innovative piece of equipment essential for advancing medical treatment. He also highlighted the achievements made possible through collaboration between institutions, companies, and citizens.
This new project builds on last year’s success when donations enabled the purchase of a robotic surgical console, which today plays a crucial role in surgical procedures.
Also present at the event was Professor Stefano Di Sandro, Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Modena, Head of the Kidney Transplant Unit, and member of the Board of Directors of the Modena Arts Foundation. He emphasised that an evening of such intensity not only shines a spotlight on clinical research but also serves as vital support for the training of new generations of surgeons, bringing together science and solidarity to create new prospects for care.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the charity auction, a special event made possible through a partnership with the Mazzoli antique dealer.
Works by renowned contemporary masters ignited a competition that went far beyond a simple appreciation of art. Every bid, every raised hand, symbolised a collective desire to make a difference and support a cause that extends beyond aesthetics.
The atmosphere of engagement and participation turned every winning bid into a concrete act of generosity, a moment when art spoke directly to the heart.
