Over 600 tonnes from Italy to China: Transmec completes a monumental task

A project made possible by the perfect synergy of expertise and teamwork.

An ambitious project recently put Transmec’s expertise and capabilities to the test: the shipment of a complex batch destined for the assembly of a 60-metre titanium processing line.

Departing from Brescia (Italy) and destined for Shenyang (China), the assignment required four months of intense work.

The numbers speak for themselves: 518 cubic metres for the breakbulk pieces and 57 TEUs, including dry vans and special equipment, for a total of 611 tonnes. Managing such a heavy and voluminous load presented a significant challenge. Still, it was the strong and cohesive collaboration of our team that made the difference,” emphasised Ileana Franzosi, Sales Representative, and Gaia Malvezzi, Inside Sales, who worked alongside Transmec’s project team experts to ensure the shipment’s success.

In addition to managing standard and out-of-gauge containers, the assignment also included two exceptional road transports, carried out at night with escort services to the port of Genoa. From there, in December 2024, the cargo set sail for the port of Dalian, China.

The operational management involved Nancy Arnoldi, Ocean Division - Export Department Supervisor, and Paolo Mazzardi, Ocean Export Specialist, who added:

Planning and coordination are essential when handling projects of this complexity. Every decision, from the choice of transport to scheduling, requires the utmost care. Each team member contributed their expertise to ensure maximum operational efficiency.”

Once again, Transmec has demonstrated that when expertise comes together and collaboration drives the effort, even the most complex challenges can be transformed into extraordinary achievements. This sentiment was echoed by Hajar Chahboun, Branch Manager and Trade Lane Manager of the Air & Ocean Division:

With a cargo value of nearly €10 million, this shipment stands out as one of our most significant projects in recent years, both for its volume and the technical complexity involved.

The success of this shipment is a testament to our team’s determination, expertise, and passion. When we join forces, we create added value that far exceeds the sum of its parts.”
