Planting the future: Transmec Romania joins “A Forest from Scratch”
An ongoing commitment to sustainable growth by turning barren land into thriving forests.
For several years now, Transmec Romania has proudly taken part in A Forest from Scratch, a nationwide afforestation initiative led by the Plantăm Speranță association.
The project aims to breathe life back into degraded, deforested and unproductive lands, transforming barren spaces into thriving forests for generations to come.
This year’s planting day saw the spirit of community and care for the environment come alive once again.
In Girișul de Criș, Bihor County, 43 volunteers from Transmec Romania — employees alongside their family members, including 11 children — rolled up their sleeves to plant 300 young trees.
Over six hours of dedicated work, they contributed a total of 258 volunteer hours to help restore the land and support the growth of a future forest.
But the effort didn’t stop there. With Transmec Romania’s support, two local schools — Oltea Doamna and Colegiul Național Onisifor Ghibu — joined the cause, bringing 120 student volunteers who planted an additional 1,000 saplings.
The involvement of younger generations added even greater meaning to the project, nurturing both trees and environmental awareness.
Through consistent participation in A Forest from Scratch, Transmec Romania reinforces the Group’s wider dedication to sustainability, community engagement and long-term impact. Because building forests from scratch is not just about planting trees — it’s about growing hope, together.
