Project helps pupils reconnect with nature
Members of Transmec UK’s Bradford team transformed overgrown outdoor spaces at a nearby school.
Volunteers strimmed, sawed and cleared the nature garden and allotments at Hartshead Junior & Infant School.
“The area needed some TLC and we were able to make a big difference,” said branch manager, Paul Priestley.
Headteacher Sarah Shaw and all the pupils were thrilled to see the result.
“It has been wonderful to see the children enjoying this fantastic space again. Thank you to the wonderful Transmec Group and their volunteers,” she said.
The work at Hartshead is the latest community project undertaken by the branch, which has also taken part in litter picks, provided logistics for a junior football tournament, and recycled pallets to create fencing and seating at a local allotment.
